On May 25 in the "3D Arsenal" Movie Theatre there was a Press-Conference held for the purposes of screening the results of the first stage of Bekmambetov's Contest; the "Saby" Charitable Foundation is the official partner thereof.

Bekmambetov’s contest is going to semifinalThe last date for acceptance of applications for participation in Timur Bekmambetov's contest of scripts started on the 24th of March, has passed over. And since May 01 we have already can see the working of the Contest Headquarters on selecting semifinalists.  

This year, the number of participants from Kazakhstan has significantly exceeded the number of participants from other countries - and we think it took place mainly because the Organizers have offered special conditions to "kazakhstani" participants. The "Saby's" staff being responsible for data accumulation and sorting, as well as contacting with the kazakhstani candidates, for the period of acceptance of applications have processed 620 letters, and selected 130 synopsis for their further consideration. All the contestants' scripts will be scored by the International Jury consisting of filmmakers and producers well-known all over the world.

Both the semifinal results and additional privileges for kazakhstani script writers will be declared on the 25th of May during the Press-Conference which will take place in Astana.

A surprisingly athletic and strong-willed boy from Semei, 14-year-old Anuar suffering from a serious illness and having the second disability group has applied for the "Alem" Programme of support of young talents organized by the "Saby" Foundation.

Anuar is enthusiastically engaged in drawing and modelling, and his favourite subjects are math and physics. And he succeeds in this work. Unfortunately, due to a severe illness the boy has to learn at home, and he really wants to communicate with the outside world to find new friends and share his creativity with them.

The candidacy of the young applicant was reviewed by experts of the "Alem" Programme but he could not receive a grant from the Foundation. However, permeated with a deep sympathy to the boy, the Foundation's  management has decided to reward his efforts and present him an excellent Apple laptop so that Anuar could communicate with millions of users around the world through the Internet.

This spring all the people around the World remember the days of the Chernobyl Disaster took place on April 26, 1986. The representatives of our country also took part in the rectification of consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl Atomic Electric Power Station, where some of them have lost their health and some of them - their lives.

Every year the total number of survivors is getting thinner, but the Chernobyl Veterans do not give up. Overcoming their physical and moral pain, they continue working for the public good and for the benefit of future generations.

And it was very pleased to receive the recognition from the Chernobyl Heroes for its charitable activity: in connection with the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl Accident Mrs. Tasmagambetoba Assel Imangaliyevna, the President of the "Saby" Foundation, has been awarded with the commemorative medal of the Union of Chernobyl Veterans and Local Wars.

“Saby" Foundation has received a prestigious awardThe "Energy Summit 2011" organized by the European Business Assembly and held in London at the beginning of March has become an extraordinary event for our Foundation. At the annual International Socratic Ceremony being integral part of the Summit the "Saby" Foundation was awarded a honorary award of Queen Victoria ("Queen Victoria Commemorative Medal") - an exclusive British prize for the honor, dignity and courage, which has taken a special place in the treasury of the "Saby" Foundation.

"The award named after Queen Victoria has certainly become a great achievement for us, since the international recognition marks the beginning of a new stage in the work of our organization", - A.I. Tasmagambetova, the President of the Foundation commented on the awarding.
