The Fourth Child Poetry Contest The “Saby” Charity Foundation announces the beginning of The Fourth Child Poetry Contest in the official language of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("the Contest")

Term of the Contest
The Contest will be held from January 8, 2014 till May 1, 2014.

Open participation in the Contest
The Contest is open to young writers up to 24 years, writing in the Kazakh language. Place of residence, citizenship and nationality do not matter

Announcement of the results of the Contest will be published at web-sites of the Contest on June 1, 2014

Purpose of the Contest
1. Drawing of public attention to modern child poesy
2. Revelation of intensity, beauty, clarity and depth of the Kazakh language to public
3. Promotion of the Kazakh language as a literary and ethical basis of the Kazakh culture
4. Discovery of talented modern Kazakh-speaking poets, and introduction of their works to public, theorists of literature and publishers
5. The possibility of financial support in publishing their works in the Book of child poems, assistance in their creative development and awareness

Kanat Beisekeyev, 21 years, New-York Вот и прошли мои полгода в Нью-Йорке. Помню свой первый день, как меня встретил мой друг Арслан и показывал мне Нью-Йорк. Тогда мне показалось, что я, как будто, нахожусь в командировке. Через неделю мысль, что я буду в этом городе учиться целый год, уже прижилась.

Учеба началась 10 июля, когда в Нью-Йорке была повышенная влага и очень жарко. Помню, как среди 60 студентов-абитуриентов каждый вставал и рассказывал свою историю. Помню свои ощущения, когда я встал перед публикой и начал говорить на английском: кто я, откуда, и какова моя цель. Тогда, наверное, и пришло ощущение, что в этом прекрасном городе я не просто так.

Помню свой первый день на учебе. Как гладил свои вещи, чтобы выглядеть опрятным, чувства были, как будто снова иду в школу первого сентября. Пришел, зашел в класс и представился: «Меня зовут Канат, я из Казахстана». Я сразу взялся всерьез за учебу, каждый день чувство ответственности не покидало меня. Когда ты на чужбине, то чувство патриотизма чувствуется еще больше.
